Our entire team has a gentle manner that will help your child and you feel at ease. Make an appointment for your child’s oral health today!

We want your child’s first visit to the dentist to be fun and memorable. We encourage “happy visits” with children between 1-2 years old to help your child feel comfortable in our dental office.

If your child is anxious, nervous or fearful of visiting the dentist for the first time, here are some tips to prepare your child for their first dental visit to our office:

We Will Discuss:

  • Brushing
  • Cavities
  • Flossing
  • Fluoride
  • Orthodontics
  • Teething
  • Sealants

When you talk with your child about going to the dentist, do so in a positive manner. Talk with your child about what the dentist does and allow your child to perform a dental exam on you or on a stuffed animal.

Introduce your child to the general idea of dental care, hygiene, and what to expect from their first dental visit through books. Visit Amazon.com or go to your local bookstore to pick up a children’s dental book that you and your child can read together about going to the dentist. Books we recommend are: Show Me Your Smile! A Visit to the Dentist (Dora the Explorer), The Bernstein Bears Visit the Dentist, Just Going to the Dentist (Little Critter).

Review our website with your child to show him/her photos of our staff and our office.

Sealants

Prevention is always the best option in regards to dental health.  Dental sealants are a great way to protect your child’s permanent teeth from cavities.  Typically between ages 6 and 12 baby teeth give way to permanent teeth, this is when we are able to place sealants on the permanent molars to help protect them against tooth decay.

Dental sealants are a clear and protective coating that is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant protects the tooth from getting a cavity by shielding against bacteria and plaque. Most insurance companies pay for sealants on children’s teeth.

We always keep an eye on the future of your child’s dental needs.

We look forward to getting to know your child!
